The Minister for Energy and Resources, the Honourable Lily D’Ambrosio, announced on 19 December 2014 that the Energy Saver Incentive (ESI) scheme, also known as the Victorian Energy Efficiency Target (VEET) scheme will be continued. The target for the scheme for 2015 will be 5.4 million Victorian energy efficiency certificates.

The previous Government had announced that the VEET scheme would close at the end of 2015, following a transitional year. This decision was based on a review of the scheme undertaken to determine whether the scheme should continue for a third phase, from 2015 to 2017, and if so what the targets should be.
